I have trained in Tang Soo Do — a Korean martial art emphasising
discipline, technique, and controlled power — for almost 10 years, reaching the
rank of 2nd Dan Black Belt. Alongside training, I compete regularly
as a member of my club's Alpha Competition Squad, the club's elite
competitive group, and have on occasion served as Squad Captain.
🏆
2× Irish Invitational European Grand Champion
European open competition · Northern Ireland
Competition has taken me across all four UK nations as well as
internationally to the Netherlands, competing against athletes from
clubs across Europe. Across my competitive career I have accumulated
42 medals in total.
International
Competition level
Alpha Competition Squad member — selected for the club's highest competitive group, representing the club at regional, national, and international events.
Squad Captain (on occasion) — leading the team at competitions, managing warm-ups, supporting teammates, and representing the club in official communications with event organisers.
Competed across UK and Europe — England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and the Netherlands, gaining experience in a wide range of competitive environments and judging styles.
Away from engineering and martial arts, I race on a Fanatec sim racing setup
— wheel, pedals, and rig — primarily in F1 25 and occasionally
Assetto Corsa. I compete in two online leagues,
where the racing is close, competitive, and a good outlet for the same analytical
thinking that goes into engineering problems.
Circuit de Monaco
Best performing circuit · F1 25
Consistently placing in the top 20% worldwide across every circuit
in F1 25, with Monaco as my standout track at top 2% globally.
Monaco rewards precision and patience over raw speed — a circuit where mechanical
sympathy and spatial awareness matter as much as reaction time.
Fanatec hardware — direct drive wheel, load cell pedals, and a dedicated racing rig. Proper force feedback makes a meaningful difference to how you feel and respond to the car.
Online league racing — two active leagues with structured race calendars, qualifying sessions, and championship points. Approximately 50 points accumulated across both.
Assetto Corsa — used for more technical, physics-focused driving, particularly for practicing car control and understanding how setup changes affect handling behaviour.
